![]() In February 2003, youth VOICE became a Millennium Volunteers provider with support from Leicester Community Action Network. Young people have taken responsibility in developing a range of opportunities that are designed to enable learning and developing of new and exciting skills. In our first year programme we have achieved our target of 40 MV’s with an ever growing waiting list of young people wanting to participate. ![]() Since launching the scheme all of our MV’s have had access to some training with 5 young people gaining levels 1 and 2 in football coaching and 6 MV’s having access to basic food hygiene training. As a result youth VOICE is committed to supporting the ongoing development of our Millennium Volunteers, managing the Volunteer Plan process and issuing awards. What is it? The Millennium Volunteer Award of Excellence Certificate will be awarded when voluntary activity of 200 hours is completed within 2 years of members signing their agreed action plan. Who is it for? The project is open to young people in full or part time education, unemployed young people, those who may feel marginalized from their communities and young people in work. |
